SBL Speaker Series welcomes Tom Kane of Constellation Brands to present on the topic of "Social Responsibility - The emerging role of the Corporation"

Last week, Tom Kane, executive vice president and chief human resources officer at Constellation Brands, spoke to members of the School of Business and Leadership, the larger Nazareth community, and supporters as part of the SBL Speakers Series. The presentation, "Social Responsibility - The emerging role of the Corporation," resulted in rich conversation between Tom and the session's attendees. Session Overview

The session provided a brief overview of Constellation Brands’ approach to CSR, including the importance of articulating the Company vision and having defined focus areas of charitable contributions aligned to business strategy. Also discussed were the sensitivities associated with balancing consumer trends and employee expectations regarding social and political issues. In addition, Tom provided a briefing on various Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) ratings and the increasing expectations around corporate transparency in this area.

About Tom

Tom Kane is the executive vice president and chief human resources officer at Constellation Brands. He is responsible for the human resources function worldwide to ensure that all initiatives support the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategic imperatives on a global basis. Tom is a member of the executive management committee. Tom joined Constellation in May 2013 in his current role.

Throughout his career, Tom has gained experience in multiple global businesses in a range of industries, from industrial products to government services to consumer hard goods. Before joining Constellation, Tom worked at Armstrong World Industries, Black & Decker Power Tools as well as General Electric and Martin Marietta.

Tom holds a Bachelor's Degree from State University of New York, Oneonta, and a MBA, Human Resources, from State University of New York, Binghamton.
